Terms of Service
Effective June 12, 2026
Welcome to CashCaptain. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CashCaptain web application and services at cashcaptain.us (the "Service"), operated by Corepass ("CashCaptain", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms contain a binding arbitration agreement and a class-action waiver in Section 15. They affect your legal rights. Please read them carefully.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is provided in the United States; we make no representation that it is appropriate or available elsewhere.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us at support@cashcaptain.us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
3. The Service
CashCaptain helps you view and analyze your personal finances by connecting to financial institutions through Plaid Inc. and presenting the resulting data in a unified dashboard. Features include transaction categorization, budgeting, recurring-charge tracking, net-worth visualization, and an optional AI assistant.
CashCaptain is not a bank, broker-dealer, or financial advisor. We do not move money. The Service is a personal money-management tool.
4. No Financial, Investment, Tax, or Legal Advice
NEITHER CASHCAPTAIN NOR THE SERVICE PROVIDES FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, TAX, OR LEGAL ADVICE. All content, calculations, categorizations, projections, and AI-assistant responses are provided for informational and educational purposes only, are general in nature, and do not take into account your individual circumstances. Nothing in the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or to adopt any financial strategy. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Always consult a qualified professional before acting, and verify any figure with your financial institution.
5. Plaid
By connecting an account, you authorize Plaid to retrieve information from your financial institution on your behalf and share it with CashCaptain. Your use of Plaid is governed by Plaid's end-user terms and privacy policy at plaid.com/legal. You may disconnect a financial institution or delete your account at any time, which will cause us to revoke Plaid's access to that institution.
6. AI Assistant
The Service may offer an optional AI assistant. When you use it, relevant portions of your financial data are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic, PBC) to generate a response, as described in our Privacy Policy. The assistant's output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice(see Section 4). Do not rely on it for any decision without independently verifying the information. You agree not to use the assistant to attempt to extract other users' data, to generate unlawful content, or to misuse the Service.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal or fraudulent
- Attempt to access another user's account or data
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or harvest data from the Service
- Disrupt or interfere with the Service or its security
- Use the Service to handle data that does not belong to you
8. Fees and Subscriptions
CashCaptain is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans, we will disclose the price, billing frequency, and cancellation method before you are charged, and we will obtain your consent. Where a plan renews automatically, we will tell you so clearly, send any renewal reminders required by law, and let you cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current term unless required by law.
9. Intellectual Property and License
The Service, including its software, design, text, and logos, is owned by Corepass and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Service except as expressly permitted.
10. Your Content
You retain ownership of the information and content you provide (such as categories, notes, and budgets). You grant us a limited license to use, store, and process that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to provide any information you submit.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if your account creates a security or fraud risk.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16) will survive.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the data shown will be complete or accurate. Always verify financial information with your financial institution before acting on it.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CashCaptain will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US $100.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold CashCaptain harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
15. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class-Action Waiver
Please read this section carefully — it affects your rights.
Informal resolution first. Before starting an arbitration, you agree to email support@cashcaptain.us a written description of your dispute and give us 30 days to resolve it informally.
Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and CashCaptain agree that any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration provider under its consumer rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small- claims court. The arbitration will take place in the United States, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class-action and jury-trial waiver. You and CashCaptain agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding. You and CashCaptain waive any right to a jury trial.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing support@cashcaptain.us with your name, account email, and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. To the extent any dispute is not subject to arbitration, it will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
17. General
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Force majeure. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and CashCaptain regarding the Service. No waiver of any term is a continuing waiver.
18. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
19. Text Messages (SMS)
If you opt in by providing your mobile number and checking the consent box in the Service, you agree to receive recurring automated account and informational text messages from CashCaptain (for example, budget alerts, bill reminders, unusual-activity notices, and progress updates). Consenting to texts is not a condition of using the Service. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing. See our Privacy Policy for details.
